What are your career interests and why?

I’m interested in doing something in a space related field like technical writing or observatory work. I have been interested in space since I was a child and with time I decided I wanted to make a career out of it. Without education and the many opportunities I have had thanks to teachers and staff, I would have never discovered the things I now have immense passion for in life.

What does being a Lansing Promise scholar mean to you?

Lansing Promise has given me the chance to attend school without having an overwhelming burden of the cost looming over me each semester. I am so happy and thankful that I am one.

Even outside of the financial assistance, Promise offers programs within my school to help me find resources that may benefit me and financial advising. It helps me know that I am not alone in this journey and if I have any grown up questions they always have someone that can help.

What advice would you give to our future Lansing Promise scholars?

To future Promise scholars, know that with each grade you enter and each class you take there are lessons to be learned and experiences open for you to take charge of. You have to be willing to put yourself into challenging situations if you want to see yourself grow into the best version of yourself that you can be. But at the same time, take time to enjoy the stage of life that you’re at. You are only young once, make memories that you’ll keep forever.
